Overview
The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) is a public health preparedness and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services. ASPR was created under the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to lead the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters.
Responsibilities
• Provide support to the Response Communications Team (RCT) help desk
• Perform RCT inventory management duties on all RCT equipment and assets and create and maintain master and comprehensive spreadsheets to track inventory status/accountable property located at ASPR Mission Support Centers (MSC) and facilities. Spreadsheets shall be updated regularly and at a minimum, weekly to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
• Utilize the ASPR Logistics Resource Management System (ALRMS), inventory management system to track and maintain the RCT IT/Communications assets.
• Perform property custodian duties for all RCT equipment at the MSCs and facilities assuming responsibility for the safekeeping, maintenance, and accountability of the equipment.
• Provide support and updates for laptops that are used for response to disasters or public health emergencies including performing software updates and patching as required. Ensure that laptops are functioning optimally and address any technical issues that may arise. Update Response laptop images on a weekly basis to ensure the laptops reflect the most recent configurations and software updates.
• Assist in rekeying Response Communications radios and is responsible for managing and rotating radio batteries to ensure they are always charged. Ensure radios are properly functioning, identify any issues and secure them for effective communication and cache readiness.
• Performs duties associated to the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (DMORT), IT/Communications Cache/Deployable Portable Morgue Unit (DPMU); prepares the outgoing DPMU cache to ensure communications and IT assets are functional.
• Identify assets to be excessed and work the ASPR established property excess process to excess IT and communications equipment as required
• Data Retention; maintain and perform data retention protocols for all assets returning from the field and response missions ensuring data integrity and security, in compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
• Stay current on all policies, guidance and procedures affecting logistics practices.
Qualifications
Required Education
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Required Experience
2-4 years experience in IT field

Pay Transparency:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets. The pay for this position ranges from $45,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $65,000/year in our highest. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. ‘Drodex’ is a government contractor company.
